The Rebel Faction is a roleplaying group that split off from The Gungan Council in the summer of 2001. Their roleplay focuses mostly on fleets and fleet warfare, as well as political intrigue and planetary conquests.
History
In the summer of 2001, the 'Golden Age' of the Gungan Council was drawing to an end. Several factions had amassed huge fleets and vast empires. Roleplaying became more a competition than a game, and factions exploited loopholes in the rules to gain the upper-hand. Newly-formed factions were wiped out by the larger groups before they could even get started. The Out of Character forum became more volatile than The Battleground, flooded with arguments that rapidly descended into flame wars. Divisions were even apparent among the administration and the staff room became equally explosive. Tensions culminated with the removal of Organa Solo from her position as administrator which immediately led to the formation of a mass exodus to a newly formed roleplaying galaxy, The Rebel Faction. It is estimated that as much as 80% of TGC's members followed the fleeing party, leaving the group teetering on extinction.
