Vortex was a Mid Rim planet in the Glythe Sector. The planet was the home world of the Vors, a race with wings, but no emotion.

For generations, the center of their civilization was the Cathedral of Winds, an organic-looking crystalline structure. As the high winds of Vortex blew through the structure, the Vors opened and closed windows and vents in order to create music from nature. Recording the annual concerts at the Cathedral of Winds was forbidden, ensuring that each performance would remain absolutely unique

The Vors were the inhabitants of the Mid Rim world of Vortex. They were thin, hollow-boned reptilians who flew on leathery wings. Although they were a flying species, they lived in underground hummocks. While Vors seemed inscrutable and nearly emotionless by Human standards, they were capable of creating great beauty through their music.
History
Vortex joined the Galactic Republic in 189 BBY. It was ruled by Krini-shen, the Chief Council.

The center of the Vor's society was The Cathedral of Winds: A magnificent, delicate and extremely intricate structure which was the focal point of Vortex's annual Concert of the Winds, a cultural festival to celebrate the planet's changing of seasons.
