House Lungbarrow

House Lungbarrow is one of the noble houses of Kilia IV, with a vast estate located in a region known as Prydon.

History

Around the time of the invasion of Naboo, Lord Quences Lungbarrow was the Regent of the house.

When Lord Quences died, he unfortunately left no direct male descendents, and so rule passed to his nephew, Arkhew J'onzz. Arkhew had previously been a Kilian Ranger, and though already the Kilian Lord of House Lungbarrow in his own right, many of the feudal lords were uncomfortable with the blurring of the lines between the Rangers and the nobility. Despite this, the laws of succession upheld his inheritance.

Arkhew's younger brother - who called himself Iridonia J'onzz - was something of a black sheep amongst the family, and Arkhew's advisors recommended he find a way to prevent his brother from becoming a public nuisance. Knowing that Iridonia was obsessed with the prospect of exploration of the galaxy beyond Kilia, he was sent on a mission of exploration, to "report back" on the state of galactic affairs. With Iridonia out of the picture, Arkhew made the politically unpopular decision of appointing a new Ranger for House Lungbarrow: that allowed the legally permitted three Rangers and their Squires to protect and keep the peace on the Lungbarrow estate; but technically, the estate was served by four Rangers, even if one was absent. Though formal protests were made, House Lungbarrow's political standing - not to mention the strength of its yeomanry - was enough to provent it expanding beyond disgruntled disapproval.

A few years after the Battle of Endor, Arkhew J'onzz unexpectedly died, and succession passed to his brother. Iridonia was forced to end his life of exploration and attend to his responsibilities back home. He did however manage to maintain some connection with the outside galaxy however, sending J'onn Scarlet - his former Squire, and the man he appointed as his replacement as Kilian Lord - on regular errands.

During one such errand, Lady Marian J'onzz - Iridonia's daughter - stowed away aboard Scarlet's vessel. It was a fortunate accident: for her absense coincided with a move made by a rival House against Lungbarrow. One of Lungbarrow's Rangers - Owis Estro - turned traitor; and without J'onn Scarlet's presence, House Lungbarrow was overwhelmed, and Lord J'onzz was placed under house arrest.

Under Kilian law, the userper's claim to the Lordship would be upheld, unless challenged by someone whose heritage made them the rightful heir. That made Lady Marian a severe threat to his rule, and so he sent Owis Estro out into the galaxy, to hunt down and kill J'onn Scarlet and Marian J'onzz.
