Lord of the Empire
A title awarded solely by the Emperor or Empress conferring a senior aristocratic position onto an Imperial Citizen for (mostly) meritocratic reasons. There are occasions where staunch supporters and political allies are given the title. Those so-awarded are referred to as " your Lordship" or " my Lord." Notable recipients include Yegrin Souravic Tion and the late Grand Moff Tarkin, though the latter had no use for it and was rarely referred to as Lord Wilhuff.
The position comes with a yearly pension to the ennobled subject and a smaller pension to his spouse/life partner and his direct descendants.
The title is not hereditary.
Female Awardees
The title can be given to females and are known each as a Lady of the Empire.
