When the Bounty Hunter Chir'daki first began his career, he found himself in need of a spacecraft to transport him - and potentially any live targets he managed to capture - to and from his various contracts. However, he had very little money to his name; only what he had managed to earn as a low-level hired thug working for Black Sun.

He found the Rutian rusting in a salvage yard on Ord Mantell: an old Firespray 31 Patrol Craft from before the Clone Wars. It was in a poor state of repair, but the design provided exactly the sort of ship that Chir'daki needed; perhaps the reason why notorious Bounty Hunter Boba Fett posessed a vessel of the same type. He named her after a Twi'leki word that referred to the cyan skintone of some members of that species: highly sought after in the slave market. The ship was appropriately decorated blue; Chir'daki had the image of a Twi'lek dancer painted on the hull to further the theme.

Chir'daki spent every last credit making the Rutian spaceworthy again, but she soon proved her worth. As he began to profit from his hunting, he invested heavily in repairing and modifying the ship; by the time Chir'daki was permenantly engaged in a contract with Black Sun, the ship boasted a formidable and varied arsenal of weaponry, and a broad compliment of equipment to aid in the pursuit and capture of his targets, no matter how far or fast they tried to run.

However, as his status within Black Sun began to grow, the time Chir'daki spent hunting consequently decreased, and the Rutian became an increasingly inappropriate conveyance. Requiring something to act as a mobile home and a base of operations for his administrative duties, he purchased the Blue Shadow: a luxury yacht, more befitting his new income. With the Shadow also came the Lethan - a small ship intended to shuttle Chir'daki to and from his yacht, avoiding the need for the ship to make frequent surface landings. With no real need to utilise the Rutian anymore, Chir'daki consigned the craft to remain berthed in his private hangar on Nar Shaddaa.

When Chir'daki became involved with the former Inquisitor Tear however, the Rutian became useful once again, allowing him to travel more covertly to locations where the Blue Shadow might have attracted unwanted attention.
