Character Description

Taro's tattoo which he recieved shortly after he turned sixteen.

Taro doesn't know what formal wear is. He generally sports a shaggy, longish haircut, tending to stay either brown or black headed, or blonde. He prefers to wear comfortable things: wife beaters, t-shirts, jeans, exercise pants, exercise shorts, exercise capris, tennis shoes, bare feet, etc.

His skin tone is the characteristic Asian olive tone. His birthmark is located under his knee-cap, an odd U shaped dark bit of skin. He sports few blemishes, except for some freckles and moles. He has a tattoo on his back, an outline of angel wings--he got it shortly after he turned sixteen.

Basic Nature and Perceptions

Taro has a slightly distorted view of himself. He still has a few hanging on negative thoughts about himself from when he was nothing more to himself than a peice of trash. However, meeting, knowing, and marrying Jesimae made him realize that as long as he loved her it wouldn't matter. Others perception of him ranges from that he is a happy-go-lucky young man to that he is a grouchy kid who doesn't get out much. People's views on Taro never seem to be love or hate, they are usually inbetween, unless they know him extremely well.

Taro is generally a kind hearted person. He likes to help his brothers, his wife, and the others he is attached to through them. However, Taro's past and his lack of a good role model has made him a little hardened to emotions. Although he feels very deeply and strongly, he often has a hard time expressing them. He has a hard time relating to people and is not outgoing at all. He doesn't like to be pushed out of his comfort zone, although he will go to extreme lengths to protect those he loves. He often has a hard time going back to his past, even though the lack of his communication has sometimes caused tension between he and Jesimae. After meeting her, however, he opened up more than he ever had.

Taro's likes include: food, smoking, sleeping, and shopping. Among his dislikes are: stupid people, chewing with the mouth open, insomnia, and being away from home.

Backstory

Taro Lawson, the second boy born to a mentally unstable mother and a lieutenant in a Naboo army, he grew up caring for his younger brother Jiro, who was the the reciever of his father's drunken rages and depression driven beatings.

At fifteen, Taro ran away from home with his little brother in tow, and took up with a young man, Gregory Andler, who taught he and his brother the "art" of pickpocketing, which Taro took up with great fervor. Taro and Jiro grew even closer during this time. Rarely apart, they performed most of their steals together, Jiro being the ditraction, and Taro doing the stealing.

Taro was sixteen, Jiro was caught during a job by a wealthy businessman who immediately demanded his imprisonment. Gregory was nowhere to be found, and Taro and Jiro never heard from, or of him, again. Carrying a lot of weight, the businessman easily had him imprisoned. Taro, unsure of how to bail his brother out, took up jobs that had more money to offer.

It was at this time that Taro fell into drugs. Small and slight, he was easily undetectable in a large crowd. He carried drugs between gangs, and officials, quickly became a first class drug runner. He dabbled in drug usage, and was soon hooked on many kinds.

His dealings with drugs, lead him to an exotic dance club in the HWANG District of Coruscant--Raoul's Exotic Dance Club and Bar--where he was taking a shipment of drugs. He was immediately mistaken for one of the dancers, and solicited many times in the course of only walking through the club. He was hired on the spot.

As a stipper he was a hit, and as a street walker, he was even more sought after. Taro was one of the most expensive prostitutes in the HWANG District, and serviced many men and women, although he was much more popular among the men.

Taro became too far into the drug and prostitution business to get out easily. When he turned eighteen, and had saved enough money, he wanted to leave and get his brother out of jail. However, he almost had to put up a fight to do so. Eventually, he was able to quit at Raoul's and return to spring his brother from jail where they moved into an apartment in the NIHONGO District together, where Jiro continued to pickpocket and Taro continued to use the money to feed his habit.

Nineteen came and went, his behavior erratic and frightening. During this this time he murdered two men--in a state of "ultimate high"--and was constantly putting his brother under mental stress.

Finally becoming fed up with his brother, Jiro and Taro culminated their then brittle relationship in a violent fight. Jiro left Taro alone.

The shock of his brother leaving was enough to get Taro clean. He contacted his brother soon after his twentieth birthday, and asked him to come back. Jiro did, but brought a friend along with him, a friend he had helped save. Her name was Jesimae Phoenix.

It was "love at first sight" according to Taro, who immediately developed feelings for the woman whom he helped save the life of soon thereafter from a man, Decallion, who had been stalking her. Only weeks went by before Jesimae and Taro were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Soon after, however, Jesimae's supposedly dead brother, Jabari, contacted her, and called them to his home planet, Naboo. Jiro, Taro, and Jesimae went. The visit culminated in Taro's murdering of Jabari after he threatened Jesimae, Jiro, and Jabari's own wife and child. Taro say now that he does not, and has never, regretted killing Jabari.

Taro, Jesimae, Jiro, and Jabari's ex-wife Mei-li Yeh and his daughter Hana left Naboo, meeting a young mechanic, Orange Diren, on the way.

But as Lawson luck goes, they returned only to problems on Coruscant.

Without Taro's knowlesge, he had been stalked by two men, one Aiden Glen, and his animal-like lackey, Mr. Lawson, a murdering rapist who was wanted for several gruesome offenses.

After being ambushed, running Aiden Glen off and locking Mr. Lawson up, they found that the frightened, one-blue-eyed Mr. Lawson, turned into the mild mannered, big hearted Haruko Lawson. Their elder brother.

Soon after, their dying father called them to Tattooine, where Taro's pent up hate for his father came to a head and he and Jiro fist fought in the living room of the dying man's home, and Taro all-but cursed his father's existence to his face.

After his death, and the meeting of a young healer, Asher Perez, Taro, Jesimae, Orange, Haruko, Jiro, Asher and her young brother, flew back to Coruscant, where, after almost two years of non-stop chaos, Taro was finally able to pop the question.

Only months following, Taro Lawson and Jesimae Phoeniz became Mr. and Mrs. Lawson.

However, it was only weeks following the wedding when Jesimae--an ex-assassin of more than 200 people--had to flee Coruscant due to the culmination of other bounty hunters after her head.

She and Taro fled to a remote colony outside of Coruscant, where they took on fake ID's and lived peacefully for only while before two assassins, Dove Goldman, and Hitomi Lawson discovered their whereabouts and tracked them. They brutally attacked Jesimae--who was then pregnant with their child--while Taro was finishing up papers for the place they had rented there.

The assassin, Hitomi Lawson, however, did not deal a killing blow and Jesimae survived, driving the two assassins and many others towards revenge.
