The Sith Empire, commonly referred to as TSE, was a Sith roleplaying group that existed on SW-Fans.Net from 1999 until 2002. Along with it's roleplaying arch-rival, the Greater Jedi Order, the group was one of the largest roleplaying entities on SW-Fans.Net. The Sith Empire left SW-Fans.Net in mid-2002.

History

Origins

When a large number of members left SW-Fans.Net to form CoruscantCity.Net, the primary Sith group at the time, The Sith Council (led by Itala Marzullo) also left to join the new board. A handful of members who decided to remain on SW-Fans.Net restarted the roleplaying, first by creating a new Jedi group titled The Jedi Council (named after the original Jedi group that had left). TSE had its humble beginnings back in July/August 1999 under two posters called Darth Sidious and Mara Jade1. They preferred to roleplay as Sith characters, and followed the Jedi example and setup a Sith group which was also titled after the original group, The Sith Council. Darth Sidious disappeared after only a week and another poster called Darth Fenris took over.

Naming 'The Sith Empire'

In August 1999, Sith roleplayer Darth Fenris became leader of the group and under his leadership the group was rechristened The Sith Empire, a name that is used to this day. The group would end up becoming the main Sith roleplaying group on SW-Fans.Net until the group's leaving in June 2002.

Early Leaders

1. Darth Sidious
2. Darth Fenris
3. Lady Mara Jade
4. Bromine
5. Rama Sha

Eventually Rama Sha surrendered the sole leadership and instead implemented a council leadership body with it's members being voted upon by the group membership. The council system is still followed to this day.

Forum Structure

As one of the largest groups to roleplay on SW-Fans.Net, The Sith Empire often saw it's board structure expand and change. Major forums included:

  • Sith Council Room - a forum for official discussion relating to The Sith Empire.
  • Sith Empire Headquarters - a private forum for discussing group matters.
  • Sith Training Grounds - a training forum for masters to train their apprentices.
  • Rama's Corner - a forum open for general discussion and roleplaying, including non-Sith posters. Named after Rama Sha, a one-time leader of the group.

Leaving SW-Fans.Net

By 2002, the leaders of The Sith Empire had begun to have serious disagreements with the administration of SW-Fans.Net as well as with members of some of the other roleplaying groups. When SW-Fans.Net offered to host the major roleplaying groups on it's own message board in the first half of 2002, TSE was the only group that chose to remain located on it's original ezboard message board.

In mid-2002, The Sith Empire decided to leave SW-Fans.Net and instead establish itself in a separate roleplaying universe. The group can be found today as part of StarWarsRPG.Net.
